About
Aline Kernan
I will offer you a confidential and non-judgemental space to talk about past or current difficulties, allowing you to explore your life experiences, relationships and emotions. You will find me a respectful, warm, and calm person to work with. Rather than giving you advice on resolving your issues, I will act as a guiding companion and we will work collaboratively to help you find the strength and answers that lie within you. My aim is not to pressure you to talk about anything you are not ready to, and I will go along with you as slowly and gently as you want.
I have experience in counselling for a wide range of mental health issues. My special interest lies in supporting those who have suffered severe childhood trauma (emotional /physical/ sexual) or adult sexual abuse.
My volunteering experience includes working for a number of different charities supporting those experiencing various types of traumatic experiences, bereavement, baby loss. Prior to qualifying as a counsellor, I worked in a corporate environment specialising in people and leadership development.
